Dallas 4D High Definition Liposuction – Combining SAFELipo® and VASERlipo®
- Posted on: Mar 13 2018
Traditional liposuction techniques can leave the patient’s treatment area lumpy, uneven, and look somewhat unnatural. Dr. Amirlak has combined the two highly effective and innovative techniques of SAFELipo® and VASERlipo® System to provide the Dallas patients with the ultimate defined body.
Men usually seek six-pack abs and a V-shaped torso. Women are either seeking a six-pack ab athletic look or a thinner palate look which gives an illusion of an elongated and narrow torso look.
Traditional liposuction procedures do not address superficial fat compartments beneath the skin.Dallas 4D High Definition Liposuction is a cutting-edge liposuction technique that not only addresses the deep fat compartment but also addresses the superficial compartment if necessary. To achieve this defined look one may need to do abdominal etching, design curves and shadows in the abdomen, flanks, lower and upper back, chest and thighs.
The problem
Many liposuction procedures currently used include heat generated by lasers, radiofrequency, and ultrasound to break down the unwanted fat. Sometimes the heat in these techniques has an unwanted side effect: it kills delicate support structures and skin that surround the unwanted fat cells. For a liposuction procedure to deliver natural-looking results, these tissues may need to remain alive and healthy. Damaging these tissues may lead to scarring, dermal adhesion, and skin that appears tethered and unnatural with a wavy, lumpy, uneven appearance. In addition, traditional liposuction that does not use vibration does not always create the textured distribution of fat and may result in a higher chance of lumpiness.
How is combining SAFELipo® and VASERlipo® System different?
Unlike other forms of liposuction, SAFELipo® first loosens, emulsifies, and separates out the unwanted fat cells by creating vibration, gently removes them, then equalizes the remaining thin, fat layer without generating heat. This keeps the blood vessels, skin, and other tissues from being damaged or destroyed. VASERlipo® System emulsifies the fat using ultrasound which is only used in areas that higher amount of contour is needed.
How does DR. Amirlak perform SAFELipo
- Step 1 — Fat Separation
Dr. Amirlak uses a specialized cannula that employs power-assisted liposuction to separate the targeted fat globules from each other and their surrounding attachments without tearing or otherwise damaging the delicate stomal network and supporting blood vessels. The separation process allows fat cells and globules to become “loose and emulsified” without the generation of heat or too much mechanical trauma, thereby eliminating the damage caused by the thermal energy used in other methods such as laser-assisted liposuction and mechanical trauma with traditional liposuction.
- Step 2 — Aspiration
Removing the fat cells, aspiration, is common to all liposuction procedures. But with SAFELipo® the separation stage decreases the resistance and adherence of the targeted fat. This allows Dr. Amirlak to use a smaller, thinner cannula to remove the fat. This prevents suction avulsion injuries that occur with other liposuction methods, making for dramatically less bruising, swelling, and no internal scarring. At times the superficial fat compartment is addressed. This creates a thin, healthy fat layer with intact blood vessels and surrounding tissue. When designing a more muscular or when combining the liposuction with a tummy tuck VASERlipo® System is used to address the superficial fat compartment while leaving the small blood vessels that keep the fat and skin alive intact.
- Step 3 — Fat Equalization
After extracting the targeted fat cells, Dr. Amirlak then focuses on the thin layer of fat that remains. This important layer is then equalized with fat equalization probes without utilizing suction. After equalization, the thin, even layer of subcutaneous fat that remains is an absolute necessity for the smooth, toned, and natural appearance coveted by liposuction patients. By leaving a smooth thin blanket of local fat grafts, this prevents the skin from adhering down to the underlying muscle layer, preventing the most persistent and pervasive problem with liposuction — contouring irregularities.
